The UNSANE Film Project has declared war on the stunning global rise of Covert Jezebel Narcissistic Abuse. By combining a riveting story with research & commentary from the field's top professionals, it's hoped the UNSANE movie connects a real human story and the science behind it in a way that can easily circulate around the world.  Covert Narcissistic Abuse is on the rise and mainstream media is beginning to cover the phenomenon, but this devastating and dangerous type of abuse remains little-known without a catalyzing message to bring understanding to the uninitiated. The UNSANE Film Project has been developed to act as an easy-to-understand, and entertaining entry point for anyone who's unfamiliar with Covert Narcissism to begin their education.

Covert Abuse is notoriously difficult to explain, in spite of its devastating effects.  The film is meant to act as a tool; a compact message that demonstrates the abuse dynamics with applications in the fields of health, mental health, education, counseling, law enforcement and mostly, for victims to show their family members in the hopes of (finally) being understood.  Covert Narcissistic Personality Disorder (Covert NPD or CNPD) entered the DSM-4 in 1991, and continues gathering robust data from the growing research, reflected in the DSM-5 (5th Edition). UNSANE will be the first major motion picture to document the entire abuse cycle, along with coping strategies (and common mistakes made by victims) in dealing with covert narcissistic abuse. Partners ranging from prestigious medical schools to mental health associations are getting involved and that's exciting!

Compared to other mental disorders, research on Covert Narcissistic Personality Disorder (CNPD) is in catch-up mode.  The interest shown by educational institutions and the amount of scholarly research on the subject is on the rise.  With that said, it would be impossible to include all research on CNPD, but the UNSANE Film Project assembles various scholarly and peer-reviewed journal articles addressing different aspects of the condition, from theories on its origins to applicable and proven coping strategies for its victims.  The Articles & Research page of UNSANE's website (which also contains a section of mainstream articles) is meant as a starting point; not a comprehensive analysis of this strange new condition.  Nonetheless, it's worth a look to those who need answers.

In extreme cases, Covert Narcissistic Abuse can lead to suicide, and even, murder.  The spill-over from covert abuse affects children, families and friendships.  It quietly destroys entire families, often with the perpetrator being viewed as the victim, versus the evil manipulator Covert Narcissistic Abusers are.  Even if no physical harm is observable, the emotional and psychological damage done to targets is, "Like the murder of your soul," according to survivor and now-counselor, Lisa A Romano.  In order to protect from this kind of abusive attack, it's vital that the victim and those in the victim's life, like children and family understand the dangers for the purpose of preemptively protecting loved ones, which requires a full understanding of the ruthless and bold nature associated with those who conduct covert abuse behind the scenes, who often use proxies and enablers, also known as "Flying Monkeys".
